Evolution Korea
In the debate over evolution, Korean scientists aren't taking their chances. The Society for Textbook Revise has been fighting to get rid of Archaeopteryx as well as horses and other evolutionary icons from textbooks.
Confucian traditions with their emphasis on the importance of success in the world and the high value of learning still dominates the culture of the country. However, Korea is seeking an entirely new model of development.
Origins
The development of Iron Age cultures brought more sophisticated states to the Korean Peninsula, such as Goguryeo and Baekje. The government is also pushing Saemaeul Undong, which is a new movement of the community, to transform the country from a society that is primarily agricultural into one that is focused on manufacturing.
The country also has a high standard of living, and provides various benefits to employees, including the right to maternity leave and job security.
